Leadership
Barry Dick
Barry has over 25 years of marketing and investment banking experience in Asia and has built leading sales and origination organizations at Merrill Lynch, StormHarbour, and Opvs Group. In a period spanning more than 15 years he was responsible for building Merrill Lynch’s Asian FICC sales organization into a dominant force within the region. Following Merrill Lynch, Barry co-founded Opvs group, a hybrid hedge fund/boutique investment bank. At Opvs he built both a fund raising organization and was responsible for sourcing private transactions both for the firm and third parties. At StormHarbour, Barry was focused on sourcing and distributing private transactions throughout SE Asia. Barry co-founded Gold Quay Capital and is responsible for sourcing private transactions and then marketing them to a universe of long term investor relationships that he has developed over the last 20 years throughout the region.
Barry holds a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, and an MBA from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, in North Carolina.
Martin Otway
Martin has over 20 years of experience in the Capital Markets with much of that time spent in Asia. Prior to co-founding Gold Quay in June 2015, he worked at OPVS Group and StormHarbour Securities in Singapore where he was focused on raising capital for Asian companies across multiple sectors.
Martin has a deep understanding of financial engineering and credit markets having run Unicredit's proprietary trading desk in Asia for 9 years as Head of Credit Trading and then also Treasurer of Unicredit's Singapore Branch where he was in charge of a multi-billion dollar portfolio. During this time he was frequently voted one of the most astute credit investors in Asia by the Asset Magazine
After starting his career designing and developing futures and options contracts for LIFFE in the early 90's he then moved to work in the credit markets as an Asset Swap trader for Greenwich Natwest in London for five years from 1993 to 1998 before completing a Masters of Science in derivative mathematics at City University in London after which he moved to Singapore in 2001.
